Tonight when John was taking the trash out, he heard a rattle in the bush as he walked by and out slid a pretty good sized rattle snake! After a big hunt with our neighbor Josh from next door, they caught it. I don't know who had a more difficult job- John hunting the snake or me keeping Ben in the house. He kept asking me if John was still alive because in order for me to keep him inside I had to explain the rattle snakes are dangerous and if you get bitten, you could die. After they caught it, the kids were excited to check it out!

Wedding Pants
Here you go TT & Grandma T! We think the pants look amazing! Ben LOVES the hook :) Here is a picture of Heidi too- she found Kate's swimsuit to try on at the same time. She decided to wear it as a hat when she figured out it was too small for her body. And then there was Kate just watching from the couch looking cute!

Heidi's 2nd Birthday Party
On Saturday we had Heidi’s birthday party (a couple of weeks late). We just had a family party this year because Heidi does not really enjoy big crowds- she likes to do her own thing. We were supposed to go to the park up the street, but it was a hot day so we just let the kids play downstairs and then they had a water balloon fight in the front yard. It was fun to get all the cousins together! Heidi had a great time playing with her new gifts. She loves her Cabbage Patch Kid, doll bed and her new dress up items. As you can see from the photos she also enjoyed putting her belongings and herself in her new personalized duffel bag. Thank you all for her gifts and for making her day special! We are blessed to have such special family.

Ben & Heid's Conversation
Tonight I got out some art supplies for Ben & Heidi to play with at the table. I was helping them for awhile, but then I got up to feed Kate and bravely left them at the table with markers. Ben was in charge of course. This is what I heard as they were drawing:
Heidi: Good girl Ben.
Ben: Heidi, I am not a girl, I'm a boy.
Heidi: Good girl Ben.
Ben: (louder) Heidi, I told you I am not a girl. Stop calling me a girl. Don’t you know that me and Dad are boys and you and mom and Kate are girls? I am a boy and I am going to grow up to be a dad.
B:Do you want another sticker?
H: Kaaay
B: What color do you want?
H: Yaaa
B: Silly girl, I asked you what color...
No response
B: Heidi, what color? I don't want to ask you again. Do you want red? Oh no, that’s my picture for Uncle Paul, don’t touch my picture for Uncle Paul. Now, I asked you what color. Fine, I’ll just give you one.
H: Bebe Ben (Thank you Ben)
The conversation continued, and although it was cute, I do not remember all that was said. Then it got quiet. I went to check on them and they had tattooed their hands with markers. Thank goodness they were the washable kind! Art time was over…time for baths!
